Follow the Berry Brick Road! Strawberry Shortcake takes the cyclone ride to Oz and finds herself the main player in a retelling of the world famous fairy tale alongside versions of her friends. Finding herself on the odds with a wicked witch (Sour Grapes) bent on taking out the Gem Berries who light up the magic land of Oz, with the help of her allies the Scarecrow (Ginger Snap), the Tin Woodsgirl (Peppermint Fizz), and the Cowardly Lion (Orange Blossom) she must help the Berry-kins (filling in for the Munchkins) save the day.

This is a fun story remade in the Strawberry Shortcake way complete with the Wicked Witch and the rest of the supporting cast as Strawberry takes on the role of Dorothy. The message of overcoming obstacles no matter what and continuing on your journey is good for the age group this movie is targeted for.

JAM Reviews Strawberry Shortcake: Growing Up Dreams from American Greetings & 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment

A brand new release shows Strawberry Shortcake and her friends thinking about careers, the future, and friendship in two episodes on Growing Up Dreams. In the first episode, Ginger Snaps dreams of seeing the stars with her friends, though Peppermint Fizz is trying to keep her grounded. But Strawberry Shortcake reminds her friends that dreams can come true, and are always worth dreaming as her friends take their trip to the stars. The second episode looks at Peppermint Fizz and her plans to be mayor or as she calls it “the Boss”. Lessons are learned as working together is the only way to overcome a major beetle problem, and being the boss is not as important as leading and helping each other, no matter the cost. So grab a copy of Growing Up Dreams, and let your dreams soar through the clouds!
JAMS Ink on Strawberry Shortcake: Growing Up Dreams
This is a good movie with good lessons for little girls to see. The idea of striving for your dreams and never letting go reminds us that we can strive for the future no matter what obstacles find their way into our path, or our daughters’ path. And the focus on leadership versus being the boss as Peppermint Fizz discovers that necessary projects need to take precedence over special projects for the boss. Check this out for a good look at girls dreaming big and learning about important careers they can strive for.

Wintertime is coming and the gang is getting ready for the appearance of the Glimmerberrys! Join Strawberry and her friends in this new CGI adventure as presents are exchanged, Glimmerberry lanterns are carved, and a ball is prepared for. As usual with our fruity friends disputes happen, circumstances intervene, but they all come together to learn important lessons about friendship and respect.
Check out the issues with re-gifting and their fight against nature (also known as chipmunks) as highlights from this movie.
JAMS Ink on Strawberry Shortcake: The Glimmerberry Ball Movie
I enjoy watching the CGI Shortcakes with my little girls because it is kind of fun seeing the updates through the years. Kind of like the newest Justice League animation from a couple years back compared to my memories of the Super Friends cartoons, the Strawberry updates are fun to see. This one is good for my girls at least in talking about sharing, respecting one another, and with working together (which seems to be a common theme in the majority of Strawberry Shortcake movies.
Another reason they loved it was the dress-up gowns. Girls love pretty gowns, and this movie was no different. It really is such a good way to teach life lessons while enjoying the magic of CGI animation.

Take a trip to Berrywood with Strawberry Shortcake and her friends to see an old friend. Limelight, an old friend, has now become a movie star in Berrywood in the minds of her friends. But they see that everything is not all glitz and glamour, until friendship saves the day. Then the girls bring back the Berrywood experience and work together on re-opening a local theater so they make a movie for their friends. But the Pieman has different ideas that lead to turmoil and dissension. But the friends finally remember that talking things out can help solve problems and lead to teamwork to save the day.
Strawberry Shortcake: Berrywood Here We Come is a good reminder of the power of teamwork and friendship for young girls and Strawberry Shortcake fans alike.

This one is a little two episode pack that has a good focus on remembering friendship, teamwork, and that everyone is important when they are working together. It is a fun little trip to a little bit of Hollywood for your young girls watching Strawberry Shortcake and her friends making some movie magic.
Seeing Limelight and the dangers of Berrywood affecting friendships is real for our kids no matter the location. So it is good to see the resolution and realization that friendship is one of the strongest bonds a person can have.
